Back to my Bucharest blog

I really liked the idea of having an English blog about the city I’m currently living in, but I just didn’t find the time to write more.

Recently coming back from a 2 weeks holiday in Bavaria, I just remembered how hard it is to find places in Bucharest, even when you know the city as I do. It was so easy in Austria or Germany… You just had to find the first tourist office, ask for some information, pick up some maps of the public transportation and city attractions…

On the other hand, I realized how beautiful Romania really is, and that it’s a pity not to discover all its beautiful places just because it is hard to find them. And, if you don't know it yet, Romania is not an expensive country at all, so if you are planning your next holiday, this can be the place to go to.

My idea is to help you discover Bucharest and Romania. And the next post will not come after another year, trust me :)

About Bucharest

I have been living in Bucharest for more than twelve years now. I came from Constanta, another important city of Romania, situated on the shore of the Black Sea.
With this blog, I would like to help people that intend to visit Bucharest.

When visiting some western cities, I realized how hard it is for foreigners to even come to Romania. Of course efforts are made by the authorities to improve this situation, but at this point there is little information on our city that a person visiting Bucharest can rely on. I’m going present you the city I’m currently living in, with its history, parks and museums, because there are so many beautiful things here.

This blog also has a Romanian version, blogdebucuresti.ro, but I do not intend to simply translate the information from English into Romanian, but to offer a small guide for the foreigners travelling to Bucharest.
